3–4 Weeks Before
- Reserve your truck, trailer, or container early — Sedona-area rentals go fast at month-end. A 15–16 ft truck fits most 2-bedroom homes; 20–26 ft for 3+ bedrooms.
- Book your moving crew (that's us: 808-346-4672) — weekends fill first.
- Start using up freezer and pantry food.
- Sort and donate/sell what you don't want to pay to move. Haul-away can be added to your move day.
- Gather supplies: boxes, tape, markers, shrink wrap, and moving blankets/pads (your truck rental usually offers pads — grab at least a dozen).
The Week Before
- Pack room by room; label every box on two sides with the room it goes TO.
- Keep one "first night" box: sheets, towels, toiletries, chargers, coffee, tools, tape, box cutter.
- Take photos of electronics wiring before unplugging anything.
- Confirm the truck pickup time and your crew's arrival window.
- Set aside valuables, documents, medications, and anything fragile you're moving yourself.
- Measure doorways, halls, and stairs at both ends — tell your crew about tight turns, long carries, or steep driveways (common in Sedona).
Desert move tip: Northern Arizona sun is no joke. Start early, keep water out for everyone, and never leave candles, vinyl records, or electronics cooking in a closed truck.
Move Day
- Pick up the truck first — crew time starts when we arrive, so have it parked as close to the door as possible, ramp out if you can.
- Do a quick walkthrough with the crew: what goes, what stays, what's fragile, what's heaviest.
- Keep walkways clear and kids/pets in one closed room or with a friend.
- Final sweep at the old place: closets, cabinets, garage, storage nooks, and the top of the water heater closet.
- At the new place, tell the crew which room is which — boxes land in the right rooms the first time.
- Return the truck with fuel at the agreed level to avoid rental surcharges.
What we bring: dolly, lifting straps, and tools for furniture disassembly/reassembly. What you bring: the truck and, normally, blankets/pads and shrink wrap. Need packing materials? We can supply them at cost + 15%.
